You can now use the power of Amazon’s Echo to control Lutron in your home. We all knew it was only a matter of time before these two amazing products converged to make something else in our life more convenient. I can tell you first hand just how awesome Alexa is. Alexa, the voice behind the Echo will soon be one of your best friends. Just ask my daughter who had a sleepover at a friends house that was committed to using Alexa for just about everything. From the “name game” to changing the music playlist, adjusting tv channels, and checking movie times, Alexa’s voice control was spot on.

Now we have the convenience of being able to control Lutron Caseta with the Echo. Caseta’s already robust wireless system now works seamlessly with the Echo to manage your lights. This is a huge advantage with the Echo, as now you have an additional control point in your home for Caseta. This is especially helpful if you have a large home or several items on your Caseta system. When paired with a Caseta Smart Bridge, you now have voice control for up to 50 items in your home.

If you don’t think voice control of basic home functions is something you need, think about the last time you came home in the dark with bags of groceries, pets or kids in tow, and it was raining. What was once the far flung dream of home automation is now a reliable working reality.
